The “Premio Alto Rendimento” awards, at its 26th edition this year, are assigned by Il Sole 24 Ore to AM companies and mutual investment funds “that have distinguished themselves for the results achieved as well as for the commitment and professionalism displayed in taking care of investments, inspired by the fundamental value of safeguarding investor interests”.
The awards area assigned based on solid analysis criteria, that take into account fund performances over a period of three years, and are built on the assessments provided by CFS Rating. In order to assign the “Big” Italian Funds category – Best Fund Manager award to the top three Italian asset managers over a three-year period (data as at 31 December 2023), AM companies were considered with total assets in open funds in excess of 8,000 million euros (3Q 2023 data as published by Assogestioni) and the overall level of diversification across the 12 following macro-categories:
• America stocks
• Europe stocks
• Euro stocks
• Asia-Pacific stocks
• Emerging stocks
• International stocks
• Balanced funds
• Flexible funds
• America bonds
• Euro bonds
• Emerging bonds
• International bonds
Then the asset management companies that operate one or more funds in at least 6 of the 12 macro-categories listed above were considered. Once the list of candidates was compiled, the procedure was as follows:
• All the retail funds placed in Italy with a track record of at least three years were considered
• For each segment, the average rating of the different asset classes was considered
• For each company the average rating of the segments included in each category was calculated
• For each of these, the average of all categories was subsequently calculated
• The awards were given to the three companies that achieved the highest average score.
