New ELTIFs offer everyone easier access to the opportunities available on the private markets in E
The first products launched under the new European label are already winning over Italian investors, and demand will be further fuelled by fiscal incentives.
European Long Term Investment Funds (ELTIFs) provide access to investment in private markets to both institutional investors and, most importantly, to those who until today had no access to the more illiquid asset classes, namely private investors, channelling medium-long term capitals to small and medium companies and, more in general, to the European economy. The first set of products launched over the past few months are already meeting with growing interest among Italian investors and demand is expected to be further boosted in the near future by the tax incentives contained in the recently-approved “Growth Decree”. MondoInvestor has interviewed the first operators to enter this market segment, including Eurizon. The company’s Head of Marketing and Business Development, Massimo Mazzini, explains why Eurizon has chosen to be the first company to launch an ELTIF for the Italian market, offers a profile of the type of customer the product is addressed to, and gives his opinion on the regulations that govern and will govern these instruments.
